Symptoms

SBL-SCC-00025, SBL-SVR-00106, SBL-SMI-00147We have two app servers load balanced with Resonate. Today around noon our application server 1 (app1) went down with a handshake error. We recycled the siebel services tonight but now the app1 server is not coming up. All server components in this server are exiting with the following error:
Error: can't get version of installed components (ENU sia)
errors at the enterprise log are:
GenericLog    GenericError    1    2005-01-31 23:59:32    (schedule.cpp 17(793) err=2100096 sys=0) SBL-SMI-00096: The maximum number of restarts (10) for MinUpTime has been reached. The component CommSessionMgr will not be restarted again.

We searched in SupportWeb and even restored a backup of our siebns.dat file with no avail.
I have attached all log files before and after recycling the services.

We have configured all our objects managers and external connection to point to app2 in the meantime, however some of the sertvices like to outbound communication manager are not working (Communication Request) which impact our service levels to our clients. Please contact us as soon as possible.

All the components on one of the application servers, app1, were exiting with error. Reviewed of all the components log files show the following error messages,

GenericLog    GenericError    1    2005-01-31 23:25:28    Error: can't get version of installed components (ENU sia)

GenericLog    GenericError    1    2005-01-31 23:25:29    (smimtsrv.cpp 57(533) err=2100147 sys=0) SBL-SMI-00147: (smimtsrv.cpp 57: 533) error code = 2100147, system error = 0, msg1 = Error: can't get version of installed components (ENU sia), msg2 = (null), msg3 = (null), msg4 = (null)

GenericLog    GenericError    1    2005-01-31 23:25:28    (smiutil.cpp 20(156) err=2000106 sys=0) SBL-SVR-00106: Internal:The requested Parameter/event was not found.

Resolution:

It was found that the ENUSIA folder was missing or moved from <SIEBEL_ROOT_DIRECTORY>/siebsrvr/bin directory in app1. After copying the ENUSIA folder from a working application server to app1, all the components started successfully.

The customer then tried to restart the whole environment including the two application server. However, this time a different issue occurred. It was the second application server, app2, that was not able to start up. Reviewed of the siebsrvr.log showed the following error message,

The customer was advised to replace the siebns.dat with a backup copy and app2 was able to startup successfully.

When Siebel Server service is started, following error messages are recorded in SiebSrvr.log file.

SBL-SCC-00025: No value found in the Gateway. Default value in the repository is used.
SBL-SCC-00018: Internal:The request value has never been set either from the srd repository or the backing store.
SBL-SCM-00028: Key not found

How can we resolve these messages?

Please note these messages are usually benign and can be ignored safely.

Hello,

We have traced the problem to a file system issue in Unix. One of the file system was full which was causing our server to not start. What took us this long was the lack of clear message in the SiebSrvr.log file. Our server is up now but we still see errors in there. The error what we see in the long consistently is the following below

GenericLog      GenericError    1       2003-09-26 14:13:22     (sccnmsys.cpp 9(1295) err=4400025 sys=0) SBL-SCC-00025: No value found in the Gateway. Default value in the repository is used.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated

Sachin,

Thank you for the update.

If the Application Server runs fine, you could ignore this error message. In other words, this error message alone is generally benign.

However, if the Application Server or Server Components could not perform tasks as expected, you usually see this error along with other errors in the logs.

Change Request 12-EB349Z (doumentation enhancement request) has been raised to better document the Siebel Version 7.5.2.x error messages to inform us that this error "SCC-00025: No value found in the Gateway. Default value in the repository is used" is actually of a benign nature and nothing to be concerned about.

Please let me know if you have any more questions or if we may conclude our work on this Service Request.

What was thought of a Reports issue was due to the Single sign on not functioning.

The eapps.cfg when has a entry like below

ENABLEFQDN = TRUE and
FQDN = webserver.companyps.com

the zero foot print is never available and the it throws out an error called "Page cannot be displayed".

The above mentioned SR has got attachments related to the event log.

For the benefit of other readers, this Actuate Reports Service Request developed into a Web Server access request.

In the eapps.cfg file the settings:

EnableFQDN     = FALSE
FQDN         = CHANGE_ME

When this was changed to:

EnableFQDN     = TRUE
FQDN         = webserver.companyps.com

This caused the "Page cannot be displayed" error.

The SWSE Log files contained the error messages:

It was found that the cause of the errors following the FQDN changes were due to Resonate.

The settings were changed in Resonate under 'Site Setup > Operations > Advanced', the heartbeat was increased from '5' to '60' and this enabled the Web Client to function.
