Symptoms

On Version: 7.7.1 SIA [18306] of Siebel EAI

An external organization invokes an inbound web service that runs a workflow process.
They cannot deliver Siebel-structured data so the solution is to convert an external integration object (IO) instance into an internal IO instance.

The following error was observed :

(dtescriptsvc.cpp (103)) SBL-EAI-04080: Data Transform error. CSSEAIIntMsgIn constructor: First PropertySet child should have type 'SiebelMessage'. Actual type is 'NWDCustomersQuery'

Cause

First PropertySet child should have type 'SiebelMessage'

Solution

Ensure the type of the First PropertySet child is set to 'SiebelMessage'.

This can be done with a custom business service and the result can be assigned to a process property called SiebelMessage, which has a Data Type of Hierarchy.
