Symptoms

Scenario

To allow users to edit multiple records quickly in a Standard Interactivity (SI) application, customer used the "HTML Multi Row Edit" property on a list applet. This applet was based on a virtual business component (VBC), which implements Query, Insert, Update, and Delete actions by custom scripts.

In this scenario, the user can enter or update values in all visible list rows without the need for explicitly clicking the Save button and selecting another row in order to edit multiple records. Instead, the user only needs to click on a button once to save all visible records.

Issue

Attempting to save the records resulted in an error message:

Unable to load message 0xffffSBL-GEN-00000
Business component '<name of BC>' is not in cached update mode.(SBL-DAT-00469)

Cause

The behavior has been identified as a product defect, and Bug 12-14KFCWW was raised to address this matter. (Current status: Not planned for release.)

Solution

Despite thorough research Technical Support could not identify a way to achieve multi-row editing on an Standard Interactivity list applet based on a virtual business component.

If fast editing is not a top priority, use the normal list edit mode instead. The user will then have to save each record explicitly before moving to a different record.

Symptoms


Steps to Reproduce:

This example using Orders but the same issue if trying to audit Quotes


1. In Audit Trail administration, add 'Order Entry - Line Items' business component with New, Update, Delete flags as true.
2. Add the fields in below applet - Product, Quantity Requested.
3. Click the Update Audit Cache and log out.
4. Log back in and then in an existing order, go to order line items and update the Quantity requested. There is no error.
5. Go to the Audit trail view under the Line Items view to check if the quantity change was recorded in the audit trail view. It is not.
5. Come back to the line items view and try to update the Quantity Requested field again. Error Message is thrown.

Error:
Error invoking service 'context service', method 'SyncRowSetData' at step 'Sync Row Set' (SBL-BPR-00162)
Unable to load message 0xffff(SBL-GEN-00000)
Business Component Quote Item is not in Cached Update Mode(SBL-DAT-00469)

Cause


This issue is due to a product defect.

CR 12-1SD8OV1 was logged for this issue



Solution

This issue is resolved in 8.0.0.9 FP

Symptoms

SBL-DAT-00469, SBL-DAT-00471

Hi

I can not import event responses for a CTI configuration in "CommSrv CM Configuration Parameter View".
I click on the "Import the Configuration" button, choose the event checkbox and a file.

When i press the OK buttton and i have the error Message :
Opération non valide en cas d'inactivité.(SBL-DAT-00471)<p>Le Business Component 'CommSrv CM Event Responses' n'est pas en mode de mise à jour en cache.(SBL-DAT-00469)<p>
It happens with Siebel Web Client or Siebel Web Dedicated Client.

My Siebel configuration is :

        7.5.3.8 SIA [16192] FRA patch applied.
        HOTFIX QF3801 + QF0817

I have no probem when i uninstall the quickfix QF3801.

It is a serious problem for us. We cannot go live without QF3801 which contains critical fixes for us.

Could you help us ?

Solution

Message 1

For the benefit of the Reader:

After installing QF3801, following error message is shown when user clicks on "OK" button while importing Communication Configurations (Site Map > Communications Administration > All Configurations).

Opération non valide en cas d'inactivité.(SBL-DAT-00471)<p>Le Business Component 'CommSrv CM Event Responses' n'est pas en mode de mise à jour en cache.(SBL-DAT-00469)<p>

Steps:
1. On Siebel version 7.5.3.8 SIA [16192], install QF0817.
2. Then install QF3801.
3. Go to Site Map > Communications Administration > All Configurations.
4. Create a new Configuration or click on existing configuration.
5. Click "Import Configuration".
6. Select a .def file and check the definitions you want to import.
7. Click "OK" button.

Following error message is shown in FRA Build (Same error is reproduced in ENU having English translated message):

Opération non valide en cas d'inactivité.(SBL-DAT-00471)<p>Le Business Component 'CommSrv CM Event Responses' n'est pas en mode de mise à jour en cache.(SBL-DAT-00469)<p>

It happens with both Siebel Web Client and Siebel Web Dedicated Client. If we un-install QF3801 hotfix, we do not get this error.

Change Request 12-S90RKQ was logged to address this behavior. Customer's having the same problem should contact their TAM or Siebel Technical Support to get the Fix request approved.
