Symptoms
SBL-DAT-00124Hi support,
we're having a problem when connecting to Tools or Clients. The problem
is:
"Unable to load licensed options configuration.
Please contact your systems
administrator.(SBL-DAT-00124)"
We are looking in other service request and we've found
than the problem is with a file called options.bin. We are changed this file for other file of a
good machine of the same environment but the problem continues.
Then we've installed the
tools and the web clients again, but the problem continues.
Please, have you any
suggestions about this problem?

It has been found that this unexpected behavior happens only on machines where the Operating System is Microsoft XP Home Editiion 2002.Windows XP Home edition is not a supported platform for the Siebel Dedicated client, mobile client and also the Highly Interactive web client. The System Requirements and Supported Platforms Guide does not list the Windows XP Home edition.
Installation on a supported platform works fine. For a list of supported platforms, please, refer to the Siebel Requirements and Suppported Platform documentation.

Symptoms
The Component Group -> Communication Manager is Part Offline on Server "ss4"
When referred to the Components in that component group -> there are 5 components out of with 2 are online and 3 are offline.

Comm Configuration Mgr
Customer said that because of this, the server is not able to process the Comm requests.
Cause
Based on the above error message, we suspect that the cause of the problem could be related to licensed options which are stored in 2 files, options.bin and sia_options.bin in siebsrvr/bin. They are symbolic link to siebsrvr/lib of the same names.
The 2 symbolic link files were missing in siebsrvr/bin.
Solution
We suggested that customer create the symbolic link using ln -s:ln -s siebsrvr/lib/options.bin siebsrvr/bin/options.bin
ln -s siebsrvr/lib/sia_options.bin siebsrvr/bin/sia_options.bin
and restart the siebel server. The siebel server is up correctly and all components are running thereafter.
